Tips & Awareness
Dislocations, fractures and other injuries are often hard to identify.
Contrary to popular belief, dislocations, fractures and other types of serious injuries are surprisingly common. A lot of people go through their daily toils having such serious injuries and not even noticing them!
This is because these types of injuries are invariably caused by accidents or daily activities. Something as simple and basic as entering and exiting a car, lifting heavy objects, light running or other daily functions are actual common causes of dislocations.
More often than not, when the pain becomes intolerable the patient will seek medical treatment in facilities that can only heal the injury on a superficial level. This leaves the ‘root’, or cause of the injury untouched, let alone examined. This common error leads to the misfortune of further injuries and even years of unnecessary pain.
Why is the body not resistant to such injuries?
In today’s day and age, citizens are busy running their lives starting from early A.M. leading up to the late midnight hours. Because of this, a lot of us do not or cannot put aside adequate time or effort to do some exercise, play sports or conduct other types of physical activities. The lack of proper daily exercise causes our muscle structure to atrophy and not be as strong and supple as it should.
This leads to the body being less resistant to daily physical impact that can cause bone misalignment and thus it is easier for the bones, muscles and nerves to be affected by even a little bit of injury.
Physical pain is cyclical in nature. The discomfort caused by dislocations, fractures and other types of injuries are either continuous or it comes in intervals. Either way, if one’s serious injury is left untreated, it will fester to more acute proportions.
Therefore if your nagging pain suddenly goes away and gives you momentary relief, do not be surprised when it comes back to ‘haunt’ you.
The ‘bad’ in bad posture
Do you notice that from our childhood years, our parents, teachers, family members and even strangers from the street continuously tell us to ‘sit straight’ or ‘stand up straight’? This is because a perpetual slouch, aside from looking unattractive, is very bad for the entire structure of your body.
The repetitive action of a bad posture day-to-day, such as leaning forwards when sitting on a chair, is a learned process through years of habit. Since our muscles have a memory capacity, it accommodates a bad posture more and more, making one eventually immune to this bad habit.
In the long run, a bad posture leads to permanent damage and injury to the neck, back, spine as well as the entire structure of the body.
